Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

3:40am PST a link was sent out to the world where priority fans could purchase tickets for the upcoming release of JK Rowling’s latest installment of the Harry Potter series. A PLAY.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be premiering in London, SUMMER 2016.

Here is the synopsis:

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

MY PROBLEM: I currently residing in the USA… However that minor detail definitely did not impact my decision to try and buy tickets for my 25th birthday next summer.

Because I was so excited about buying the tickets, I decided to Snapchat the experience.

Don’t know if you caught what happened at the end of this video… After refreshing the site multiple times, I secured Dress Circle, Row A, Seats 20 & 21 for 16 and 17 June… But then the horror began! I suspected it might, but I had high hopes it would be avoided. You see some sites, particularly ticketing sites don’t accept American Credit / Debit Visa cards. Now if these tickets would have gone on sale 2 weeks ago I would have still had my Santander account in the UK and all would have been right with the world. But it wasn’t they were on sale today. Which left trying 9, count them 9 different credit and debit cards I have in my household trying to see if it would accept one of my bloody cards. It didn’t and just like that, my tickets were gone and I was kicked out of the queue. That led to some tears and then me trying to get tickets again…

I rejoined the queue of 14K+ people and waited 2 hours to see if I could get tickets again. I thought magic would allow one of my cards to work this time around, but when I was finally able to purchase again, all tickets were sold out thru Jan 2017! 😦

So at the moment…Tickets are gone! Maybe they will have more on sale on Oct 30th… #DoubtIt

This is a letter to all the Muggles out there that won’t be seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
