I Love TV_British Television - Almost Royal

The Television Industry has finally listened! Americans love all things British, especially those accent! So if you are looking for your British Fix, this summer’s TV schedule should suffice! Check out these 3 “British with a Twist” Summer Shows! Plus more…

Almost Royal

Almost Royal premieres June 21st at 10pm on BBC AMERICA.

It’s BBC AMERICA’s first scripted comedy-reality series, about Poppy and Georgie Carlton, two young British aristocrats on their first trip around the United States, interacting with real-life Americans. It’s HILARIOUS! Almost a bit embarrassing for the Brits, however it is quite comical!

Background: Poppy and Georgie are heirs to Caunty Manor, a large country estate in Norfolk, England, where they have enjoyed privileged lives as distant descendants of the British Royal Family. They have agreed to have a camera crew follow them on an unofficial royal tour of the USA.

Ladies of London

LADIES OF LONDON airs Mondays at 10p/9c on BRAVO.

It’s the Real Housewives of XYZ with a British Accent!

Set in the glittering, class-conscious city of London, the docu-series follows a group of elite British socialites, Annabelle Neilson and Caroline Stanbury, along with American expats, Juliet Angus, Caprice Bourret, Marissa Hermer, and Noelle Reno, who all run in similar social circles, but are worlds apart. From weekend getaways in the English countryside, to high tea at one of London’s exclusive polo-clubs, both groups adhere to strict unwritten rules of engagement where reputation is everything.

I Wanna Marry “Harry”

I WANNA MARRY “HARRY” airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on FOX.

What happens when 12 American women think they’re competing for the world’s most eligible bachelor? CHAOS! It’s like the Bachelor but on crack with an accent!

Reality meets romance, with a little twist, in the surprising dating show I WANNA MARRY “HARRY.” Summer love is in the air, as an average English “bloke” is given the royal treatment and an upper crust makeover before meeting 12 single American women searching for Prince Charming. Will he be able to convince them he’s regal? And if he does, will they fall for the crown, or fall in love with the real him? Join “Harry” as he courts each of the ladies, taking them on romantic dates worthy of a princess and trying to make some version of their fairytales come true.

Penny Dreadful

Penny Dreadful airs Sundays at 10/9c on Showtime.

Now before you go ahead and say this isn’t a British/American show… One of the main characters is American… So this fits the list 😉

Some of literature’s most terrifying characters, including Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, and iconic figures from the novel Dracula are lurking in the darkest corners of Victorian London. PENNY DREADFUL is a frightening psychological thriller that weaves together these classic horror origin stories into a new adult drama.

Check out these British TV Shows that are simply brilliant and need more recognition! Possibly on BBC America, Youtube, Hulu, Netflix or WHEREVER else you can find them!!!
